The morning after the night before.....

Riding high following a phenomenally successful Emergency Services Show, Katherine Lamb and the K Lamb Associates have been back out delivering a variety of Incident Command products.

  • SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award – Initial Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services

@North Yorkshire Fire, Humberside Fire and Greater Manchester Fire all used KLA teams in diverse ways to allow for delivery of this qualification. With maximum attendance on each course, the delegates all gained an invaluable insight into what steps are required to advance their journey into initial Incident Command.

  • SFJ – Effective Command – Incident Command Level 2 & 3 (ICL2&3) Revalidation

@Cambridgeshire Fire opened their doors allowing a KLA team to facilitate a series of ICL 2 & 3 revalidations. Using their excellent facilities, the KLA team supported the delegates through their assessments. The Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool was used to assess the delegates allowing much needed data to be collected on performance, and allowing the assessors to deliver quality feedback to the delegates which will only prove to develop their IC skill set. Well done to all those who took part.

  • SFJ Awards, Level 7 Award – Strategic Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services

Using the excellent facilities at Staffordshire Fire Hq building along with role players provided by the County’s Civil Contingency Unit (CCU), 2 more Fire delegates was exposed to a realistic, challenging, and complex Strategic Coordinating Group meeting (SCG). The delegates from Beds and WYFRS were put through their paces as Chair of the meeting which they both found enormously beneficial to their role. This practical element of the qualification is the final part following delegates attendance at a 2-day workshop and participating in a 1-2-1 coaching session with a highly skilled Local Resilience person.

If you or your organisation are considering writing your Incident Command (IC) training plan for the next 12 to 24 months, why not reach out and speak to the KLA team. We can advise you on the many products available to fulfil your IC training needs as well as explaining more about the Effective Command (EC) Behavioural Marking Framework for IC and the recently launched EC tool designed for use with Incident Command Training for Fire Control Staff.
