Lights, camera, action for K Lamb Associates Ltd

Katherine Lamb was recently contacted by a TV production company for Sky TV asking if K Lamb Associates Ltd would be a contributor for an upcoming business programme. A film crew spent the day with Katherine at Greater Manchester FRS training centre in Bury. K Lamb Associates were in GMFRS supporting facilitation of 2 award courses, SFJ (Skills for Justice) Awards, Level 3 Award – Initial Incident Command and SFJ Level 7 Award – Strategic Incident Command. With thanks to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s (GMFRS) Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Dave Russel for allowing support from his comms team and full access to the fantastic facilities on the training site. It is ‘in the can’ now so watch this space for information on when the show will air.

  • SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award – Initial Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services

@Greater Manchester Fire facilitated their own SFJ Level 3 award course ably supported by a member of the KLA (Katherine Lamb Associates) delivery team. This delivery model is favoured by the client at this level with delegates all gaining an invaluable insight into what steps are required to advance their journey into Incident Command.

  • SFJ Awards, Level 7 Award – Strategic Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services

Another SFJ Level 7 Award course started, this time the first phase being hosted by GMFRS. Delegates from GMFRS, Lancashire Fire and Bedfordshire Fire all engaged in a testing couple of days each delegate having to present on one topic and take part in professional discussions for the remaining 3 topics. The candour shown by the delegates led to some fascinating group discussions on many topics with direct examples used from recent experiences. Next is the practical element of the qualification, delegates participation in a 1-2-1 coaching session with a highly skilled Local Resilience Director and finally an entire day incorporating the Chairing a Strategic Coordinating Group meeting.

Elsewhere Jersey Fire and Rescue Service hosted a KLA delivery team for another SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award – Initial Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services. The 5-day course was well received by delegates and KLA’s team commented that the interaction was excellent.

If you or your organisation are considering writing your Incident Command (IC) training plan for the next 12 to 24 months, why not reach out and speak to the KLA team. We can advise you on the many products available to fulfil your IC training needs as well as explaining more about the Effective Command (EC) Behavioural Marking Framework for IC and the recently launched EC tool designed for use with Incident Command Training for Fire Control Staff.
