Six Services, One Nation…..;Touch Down!

Six more Services engaged as KLA Delivery Teams touch down.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight are the latest service to host a full course of SFJ Awards, Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services. Joined by a delegate from Devon and Somerset Fire, a KLA Associates delivery team parachuted in and immediately got to work. Engaging technical and non-technical inputs from the credible trainers, each delegate contributed to the group discussions through their own delivery of topics through presentations and professional discussions. Without having to spend hours on pre-course assignments the delegates are free to immerse themselves in the week fully exposed as IC to a variety of complex incidents scenarios that are all designed and delivered based on the delegates fire service area. No use of generic fire scenarios that bear no resemblance to the delegates service area, and they get to return to their families at the end of each day's input.

How does your service train its Command Support Unit Operatives (CSOp) and Officers (CSOfficer) for their massively important role? Well Leicester Fire are the latest in a long line of services to take advantage and book our 2-day CSOfficer (certificated) course delivered by KLA Associates. This course, and the CSOp course, are always very well received and it’s noticeable when we carry out Incident Command Revalidation Assessments when services have invested in their CSU roles.

Our expertly delivered Incident Command (IC) Revalidation Assessments at ICL2/3 &4 continue to be in high demand. Utilising the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool, Oxfordshire Fire and Humberside Fire invited KLA in to facilitate their bi-annual ICL2 & 3 revalidation assessments. New scenario types built specifically from their environment proved massively beneficial to our delegates. Just read the feedback;

This was an excellent assessment that was well structured, challenging and required me to work hard, whilst providing me with opportunities to demonstrate my skills and learn from the professional opinion of the trainers.” ICL3 Oxfordshire FRS

“Very experienced trainers who delivered all input in a way which aided the receiver; relevant, pertinent and beneficial.” ICL2 Humberside FRS

Finally, West Yorkshire Fire hosted another course of SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award in Initial Incident Command in Fire and Rescue Services. Their preferred model is for one KLA team member to attend the whole supplementing their in-house IC Training team. KLA are as always accommodating, flexible and adaptable in our approach to delivering Incident Command products to our clients.
