Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework

“This was my last command assessment and I felt invigorated and confident to see out my remaining 10 months as a competent advanced incident commander”. AM Jason Avery – H&IOWFRS

Members of the K Lamb Associates Ltd (KLA) delivery teams worked closely this week with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire Service (H&IOWFRS) and Humberside Fire Service (HFRS). In H&IOWFRS, we spent 4 days delivering a suite of assessments, SFJ - Effective Command, Incident Command Level 2 (Intermediate), Level 3 (Advanced) and Level 4 (On Scene -Tactical). Intensive for the teams but extremely rewarding as the delegates all relayed to us how much they enjoyed their experience working alongside KLA.

In HFRS, another KLA team facilitated SFJ - Effective Command ICL3 (Advanced) Assessments. Again, fantastic anecdotal feedback, the delegates immersed themselves in the scenarios which as usual had been expertly designed to represent risks in their own service area.

The Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework, used extensively during our time spent with these two Fire Services, continues to collect invaluable data on both technical and non-technical behaviours displayed by the incident commanders. How else can improvements in incident command be identified in such a holistic manner?

How is your organisation identifying trends in the application of Incident Command, have you got access to data generated via your training, monitoring, and assessment. Take a look at The Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework. It will assist your organisation with shaping the way in which you design your incident command training.

Why not visit our website to learn more about it and the excellent array of Incident Command courses we deliver both Nationally and Internationally. There is a contact page if you want to discuss your training and assessment needs with one of the team.
