North of England

K Lamb Associates North of the Country delivery team, and a Strategic Assessor spent 3 days delivering the SFJ Effective Command Incident Command Level 4 Revalidation (ICL4) (Tactical) (CCS) to Greater Manchester Fire Service. We assessed their Strategic Incident Command Team, DCFO, 2 ACFOs and 3 AMs.

 A successful 3 days with delegates applying themselves to 6 different complex incident scenarios, all of which related directly to identified risks in their own service area. Very realistic, authentic, and credible, the whole delivery team worked tirelessly to ensure a worthwhile experience.

This feedback received from 2 of the delegates receiving their ICL4 Revalidation is testament to the quality of the product and delivery;

“A first experience of KLA for command training, having experienced a number of others who operate in the sector. The curriculum, preparation prompts and reading prepared me for the training exceptionally well. The calibre and expertise of the tutors is second to none”.Ben Norman - DCFO Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service

 “The input and delivery style of the KLA trainers allow for open but challenging discussion on topics and themes relevant to the role of Strategic Commander. To receive feedback and validation from external colleagues provides assurance and confidence to all involved. Thank you to all at KLA.”Ben Levy – AM Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service

Elsewhere support was provided to Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service as their Incident Command delivery teams, using Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework following our local delivery model, assessed to SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award in Initial Incident Command in the Fire Service. Well done to the successful delegates on these courses.

 Finally, Katherine Lamb toured the country this time starting off by spending time with her North of Country Team, meeting with delegates and Incident Command Leads, ensuring everyone is content before setting off again to attend scheduled productivity meetings with Northamptonshire Fire and North Wales Fire Service to discuss all things Effective Command and Incident Command.
