Who Trains the Trainer......
Who Trains the Trainer......
A K Lamb Associates delivery (KLA) team attended Greater Manchester Fire (GMFRS) as they hosted another SFJ Level 4 Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training in Fire and Rescue Services Course. The course delegates came from far and wide, Hampshire Fire, Northamptonshire Fire, North Yorkshire Fire, Bedfordshire Fire and Tyne & Wear Fire. These services recognise the importance of having quality experienced trainers training new Incident Command Trainers.
Another KLA team, also working with GMFRS, delivered a SFJ Awards, Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command. Delegates attended from Lancashire Fire and Bedfordshire Fire. It’s testament to the ethos of Katherine Lamb how well received the vast array of Incident Command Courses are.
Command Support Officers (CSOs) are integral to the success of Command Support, and the latest service to align to this are Nottinghamshire Fire who again asked KLA to deliver one of our CSO 2-day courses. An immersive course, the input and practical exercise element test the delegates in every aspect of this invaluable skill.
In Lincolnshire Fire KLA spent the day demonstrating the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool. This is the latest service to ask for a trial of the tool, all aspects of the tool are covered in a very engaging day with Lincolnshire’s Incident Command Team and members of their Strategic Leadership Team. The trial will last for 3-months with all levels of users testing the tool to its maximum benefit.
We end the week with our Strategic Assessor supporting 2-days of delivery relating to the SCG element of the SFJ Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. Devon & Somerset Fire welcomed our trusted partners Protect & Prepare Ltd as they facilitated the SCG exercise. Challenged and pushed to their limits, delegates CFO Gavin Ellis and GM Simon Carey immersed themselves in the complex scenario. A fascinating snapshot of the expertise within this service, clearly they are driving quality learning across all levels.
