Time is of the Essence

Time is of the essence, which is why Katherine Lamb and the K Lamb Associates do the hard miles up and down the country so our delegates don’t have to and neither do the parent organisations lose their valuable staff for any longer than is necessary.

Another tangible benefit is that other specialist teams e.g., Command Unit and Flexi-Duty Officers (Role players), get to hone their skills in a safe environment. It’s interesting when listening to these staff groups give their opinion on what went well and what perhaps could be improved. Essential learning spread as far as is practicable in a training scenario, maximised value to the learning.

Last week the teams had on-site engagements with 3 Fire Services. Firstly Devon and Somerset FRS where we delivered a SFJ Awards, Level 5 Award in Design and Delivery of Incident Command Training. A course quite intensive and a lot of front loading of input but one that is very well received by the delegates. We also continued our commitment with Warwickshire FRS, this time delivering a SFJ Awards, Level 6 in Advanced Incident Command in the Fire Service, some really good feedback from this course with delegates getting a lot from the style of input and the knowledge of the trainers. Lastly one of our Strategic Assessors spent a day with 2 delegates from Greater Manchester FRS, they were completing their SFJ Awards Level 7 Award Strategic Incident Command in the fire Service at Staffordshire Fire Service HQ, a venue regularly used because the massively experienced CCU Team reside here and facilitate a very authentic and realistic scenario challenging the strategic thinking of the delegates.

In addition, K Lamb Associates provided remote support to our colleagues in Greater Manchester FRS and North Yorkshire FRS. Their training teams delivered the SFJ Awards, Level 3 Award in Initial Incident Command in the Fire Service. All of the Incident Command assessments were supported through the use of the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool, so well done to all the delegates who engaged successfully with K Lamb Associates last week.
