You must start somewhere…
You must start somewhere to become a safe, effective, assertive Incident Commander.
The SFJ Awards, Level 3 (ICL1) Award in Initial Incident Command is the first SFJ Awards qualification achievable as an aspiring Incident Commander. That is exactly what South Yorkshire FRS (SYFRS) asked K Lamb Associates to deliver in-house for them. One of our delivery teams attended last week, using the excellent SYFRS facilities, and spent 5-days passing on their vast knowledge to bring the qualification into the practical reality of most likely being the first level of command to arrive at a scene. The feedback below received already has been very positive.
“Fantastic course delivered well by the instructor team. I am in no doubt that I’m a better incident commander because of my attendance.” SFJ Awards, Level 3 (ICL1) SYFRS.
Humberside FRS have also now adopted the same 5-day format for their recent SFJ Awards, Level 3 (ICL1) Award in Initial Incident Command delivered in-house by another KLA team. Using XVR Simulation, delegates were exposed to some challenging scenarios as they were assessed using the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework (EC). The EC Framework not only allows delegates to get constructive feedback, but also feeds into the overall trends identified by the assessments which is then used to develop and improve organisational incident command training.
“The trainers have a noticeable amount of experience and knowledge gained over the years in the operational and management roles. They have been great at delivering this experience and knowledge this week to us in an easily digestible manner. They are a credit to K Lamb Associates, and I look forward to catching up with them soon for my next course.” SFJ Awards, Level 3 (ICL1) Humberside FRS
