A Thousand Reasons to Cheer

A Thousand Reasons to Cheer

Last week saw K Lamb Associates Ltd take their 1,000-course booking. A monumental moment indeed considering the company is still a fledgeling in the Fire Service Incident Command Training Sector, and 2025 being our 10th Anniversary year for both KLA and the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool. Katherine Lamb is thrilled at reaching this landmark adding that the very experienced K Lamb Associates have played a key role in the company’s success until now. No room for complacency though as the drive to influence future FRS Incident Commanders is as strong as ever.

A KLA delivery team returned triumphant from Bermuda after delivering more assessments in week 2 this time in Incident Command Revalidations at ICL3 and ICL4 (Tactical) for the Bermudian FRS. Building on a very successful week 1, the team threw themselves again into a series of scenarios using Bermudian known risks as scenarios. Delegates, including their entire SLT, faced challenging yet realistic scenarios, as always supported with feedback in a constructive way.

Merseyside Fire welcomed a KLA team back for a second consecutive week this time to deliver a SFJ Awards Level 4 Award in Intermediate Incident Command. All 6 delegates from the host service were exposed to 12 different scenarios as part of their formative and summative assessments. While intense, delegates are given maximum support to assist them develop at each step.

One of our Strategic Assessors, Joe Hassell, attended Staffordshire’s CCU for the latest SCG Practical Exercise for delegates from Lancashire fire and Humberside Fire as they progress their SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. The highest-level award in the FRS, delegates are really tested in a challenging environment as they perform the role of chair at a complex SCG. Authentic role players really provide the realism for the difficult issues arising from the scenario.
